This course will be taught in the target language and builds knowledge of Spanish language, grammar, culture, and literature. We will be learning various themes on contemporary and historical events while refining Spanish fluency. Given the pace and amount of material covered in this course, students are expected to maintain the highest level of attendance. Take some time each day to catch up on current events (BBC Mundo, People en Español) as they will be discussed in class on a daily basis. This is a project based class and there will be minor and major projects and presentations every six weeks relating to themes covered in class. Quizzes on grammar and linguistics concepts should be expected. We will also be reading one Spanish language novel each school semester. This course is not an Advanced Placement course and will not follow a College Board curriculum.
